Yeah, I'm kinda pumped.

Kinja'd!!!

New pedal pads FTW! Mine have lost most of the grip, so they were due for replacement.

Kinja'd!!!

What, did you think I'd be the type to buy an M4?

I'd buy an M4.

If you're graduating soon, might as well put down a deposit.

Aww, they took off the ridiculous German label. I have a growing collection of those on the garage wall (which will move to the new garage.)

But over the cheaper/better loved alternatives? Every review I've read has stuff that's been lost in the new car. Give me a 6MT E92 Competition Pack M3!

I'd much rather buy an M235i over an M4, but it just looks better, the M4. I'd totally rock an E24 M635csi though. :)

What fool would buy silver. That's what you were getting at. I can tell.

Very true! I think the answer for most people who want a fun car to drive/own is go older. More involvement, character, and nostalgia for less money. So if I had the money for a new C250 and M4, I'd end up going E30 M3 and 190E 2.5-15 I guess haha

And the E24 is gorgeous. I think I'd end up buying one with a blown engine and having some expensive BMW shop swap the naturally aspirated N73 V12 instead of buying M4!

you are thinking like a rich person, paying dealer markup. I would of gave them the name of a shop near by and tell them it's for them. 20% wholesale discount ftw!

Oh heck yeah! But that's the problem I see with modern sports/super cars. In my eyes, the point of a sports car isn't that it's easy to drive, with electric-assisted steering, easy to get on the power, with FI engines and such; to me, the idle sports car is something that's not difficult, but challenging and engaging to drive, and demands that you work for the power to keep up and stay ahead of the competition. And I think that most modern sports cars have lost this, but not completely, some cars have only lost certain aspects of these ideals; the again, some of those minors things are actually quite major. But I understand the progression to improve sports cars to supreme efficiency, I only wish some things weren't lost along the way. :(

Would metal pads work better? The QX4 i have has pretty slippery worn pedals and im thinking about replacing them

They have my stuff in an account. I would have bought them online, but needed them ASAP because my feet kept slipping off the pedals.

Not really, the rubber ones just pop on and off and give you the most grip/padding.

I mean like a shop account that doesn't pay tax and get wholesale price. They never check, I don't lol. But heck yeah that is an asap item. I needed a shifter knob once for my M3 and no shit my luck that no dealer had one in stock for e36. At the rainy junkyard I ended up finding one that was illuminated red. Not sure if it was an accessory item at the time or aftermarket but it was rad and free (stuck in secret tool bag pocket).

This x1000! Although I kind of feel like it's more special to own an old car vs a fun new car in most ways.

It's more special to own an older car for sure, but when difficulties in daily driving based on environment and other variables come into play, it becomes a challenge to enjoy it. If only there was some way to have both in a new car...Hydraulic steering would be nice to have instead of electric steering. Then again, de-powering the rack could bring that heavy and precise feel again.
